Activists gather, form strategies to support non-celibate same sex unions in churches

In a workshop on facing barriers and dealing with conflict, Task Force facilitator Causten Wollerman discussed the dynamics of power, and methods for creating change within congregations, denominations and society .

“You start where you can,” Wollerman said. “If the people won’t change, I’ll go to the top and get the people to follow. If the top isn’t ready , I’ll go to the people.”

While some believe religion and politics should be separate, churches are political entities and you need to acknowledge that to create change, others argued.
